Nothing matches the excitement of watching and listening to the first flight of Greater Canadians silhouetted in the rising sun as they turn in your direction having spotted the decoys surrounding your blind! As flight after flight of geese come in, littered generously with a variety of ducks, you're thankful of the extremely generous daily bag limits Alberta has to offer. If hunting in the morning wasn't enough to hit your limit it's back into the field for an evening shoot where you can finish off what you started earlier in the day.Mistabuk Lodge which will be your home base for your 3 day goose and duck hunt. Great meals, great lodging, in an outstanding area loaded with both resident and migrating waterfowl makes for great shoots from September 1st right through into October. Although the many pea fields in our area just north-east of Edmonton are a primary food source, barley and wheat fields are also a favorite feeding crop for the ducks and geese moving through our zone.
We set up each shoot in a well scouted field with 6 to 8 dozen decoys surrounding the well-camouflaged coffin blinds so effective for prairie field shoots. These are 3-day waterfowl hunting packages, either Monday thru Wednesday or Thursday thru Saturday (arrive afternoon prior to hunt and be taken right to lodge – after the 3rd morning hunt you’re taken to an airport hotel for an early morning departure). Shells are available at the lodge, as is processing of your birds, at an additional charge. For a truly exciting waterfowl hunting experience please do consider Alberta and Ryk Visscher's Waterfowl Adventures for a real special duck and goose hunting experience!
